No amount of brushing, bleaching, or getting obliviously drunk ;) would get rid of it. I hated smiling.

Then one day I was kicked by a horse and it broke that tooth so I begged the dentist to not cap it but pull it and wire in a false one. He did and I haven't stopped smiling since.

It is amazing the confidence you gain by having a nice smile isn't it?

In response to:Week 36 and counting

It has been pretty painful, more so at the start when everything was moving. Around the 6 month mark when my front laterals were being pulled into position and just recently with the spring put on, but to be honest its definitely worth it!!

Good for you. Back in the States braces on adults are actually pretty commonplace.

Has it been painful?

In response to:pics

You have beautiful teeth Sarah, keep up the good work. Please keep posting! Good for you that you're doing this. I never wore my brace when I was little. It hurt too much and didn't fit in my mouth properly. You can really see the improvements.

In response to:17wk and 2wk comparison

Thanks very much... I'm slowly getting used to them.. Wish I had them when I was younger aswell, but didn't..
My son has to have braces soon so that was also another reason why I decided to go for them. To show him that its not an embarassment to have braces...

In response to:17wk and 2wk comparison

Well Done!
I had train tracks. A most painful experience. Mine were put on when I was 16 and removed when I was 20. I had the 'fangs' too and those nasty little spring things. I had to have my braces in order to encourage my younger sister to have them (because she needed them more than me)

I think that you are really brave. Keep up the good work!

In response to:3rd Adjustment - week 13

looking good :)

In response to:OK, I think I have movement... 7 days today!!

What great photos, I can't wait to see the end result;)
